A couple of pre-fall collections have sprung up. One of which being Alexander Wang who is definitely on top of my list. This season for Wang, it’s clearly all about minimalism. I want to take note of the first ensemble, with its thick knit trench-cardigan hybrid that belongs in my closet. Take a second look at the overall silhouette. In the last year we’ve seen a strong sense of balance in many designers collections. Oversized waist length fur coats paired with painted on leather leggings and huge lanky boyfriend sweaters over anorexic-skinny jeans. People seem to add the layers up top and in turn subtract from the bottom. Case in point-it’s December in New York City yet Taylor Momsen is caught on set wearing this:
If she’s holding hot coffee and is wearing that many layers her legs must be on the verge of frostbite.
P.S If they’re not leather, fingerless gloves=homelessness. Agreed?
